Shadow and Bone spinoff Six of Crows in the works at Netflix

According to Entertainment Weekly, Netflix has had a writers room for a Shadow and Bone spinoff underway for some time. If season 2 (released yesterday) is a success (and it’s been heavily marketed [unlike Lockwood & Co]), the understanding is the spinoff will move into production. As it centres on the characters of the Crows (for me one of the strengths of season 1), major casting is already done.

For those familiar with the books (I’m not), this gets round the duology of novels Six of Crows and The Crooked Kingdom happening the same time as part of the Shadow and Bone novels. I suspect this will get a green light next month once Netflix has a 28-day block of viewing data. All good news for fans of Leigh Bardugo’s novels.
