A series of writers spoke to Deadline about the current cost-cutting era. The broad sense is the boom was always ending, and the 2023 strikes probably brought a lot of shows into sharp focus. Neil Gaiman is one of them (scroll down) and he talks Dead Boy Detectives, The Sandman and Good Omens.
The upshot is:
Dead Boy Detectives comes out in [10] days. I’ve seen half of Sandman Season 2, and it’s astonishing. I’m writing Good Omens Season 3, and we start shooting that in January.
For my money, this means we may get at least one block of The Sandman this year, with any second block early 2025. Good Omens season 3 would be later 2025, and any Dead Boy Detectives season 2 could also be filmed in 2025.
