Space Patrol comes to Talking Pictures TV this June

Not to be confused with the live action US show of the same name, 1960s marionette show Space Patrol is coming to Talking Pictures TV. Written and produced by Roberta Leigh, who also gave us Torchy the Battery Boy and Twizzle. It’s also known as Planet Patrol to avoid that confusion. The show arrives on June 15.

Very much not to be confused with Anderson’s Fireball XL5, this show was a little more plausible in its approach to the laws of physics, including journeys taking months and requiring suspended animation. It featured the vocal talents of Dick Vosburgh, Ronnie Stevens, Libby Morris, Murray Kash and Ysanne Churchman and ran for 39 episodes.
