Disney Film Slate at D23 Expo 2022

Disney film slate reveal at D23 Expo 2022

Disney did a huge reveal for its upcoming film slate at an even called D23 Expo 2022. You can read all about it in their write up, but I’ve chosen a few from the list of titles to whet your appetite. The article includes some trailers. The composite picture includes images from Disenchanted, Elemental, Peter Pan and Wendy, and Strange World.

In the order presented, we have:

  • Hocus Pocus 2 — It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th century Sanderson sisters, and they are looking for revenge. Now it is up to three high school students to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve. It arrives on Friday, September 30
  • Disenchanted — The stars of Disenchanted, including Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey and Idina Menzel, Maya Rudolph, James Marsden, and Gabriella Baldacchino took the stage to share their excitement for the upcoming feature film, which debuts Friday, November 24. In Disenchanted, it has been 15 years since Giselle (Adams) and Robert (Dempsey) wed, but Giselle has grown disillusioned with life in the city. So, they move their growing family to the sleepy suburban community of Monroeville in search of a more fairy tale life
  • Peter Pan & Wendy — On stage were cast members Alexander Molony (Peter Pan), Ever Anderson (Wendy), Alyssa Wapanâtahk (Tiger Lily), and Captain Hook (Jude Law) arrive in 2023 in a film exploring more of Wendy’s story
  • Haunted Mansion 2 — arrives sometime 2023
  • Mustafa — the Lion King spin-off arrives in 2024
  • Snow White — Who is the fairest of them all? The live-action reimagining of the classic tale stars Rachel Zegler in the title role and Gal Gadot as Snow White’s Stepmother, The Queen. The film arrives in 2024
  • The Little Mermaid — May 2023
  • Elemental — this Pixar film is released June 16, 2023. Filmmakers introduced the characters in Elemental, which is set in a city where fire-, water-, land- and air-residents live together. Ember is a tough and fiery young woman, and Wade is a fun, sappy, go-with-the-flow guy
  • Strange World — not much about the actual story, but this arrives in cinema November 23 this year.
