Silo — update on season 2… and beyond?

Star of Silo Rebecca Ferguson has been talking to Collider — you can read the whole piece here. The most salient fact in the piece is season 2 has finished filming, so there’s a chance it can make Apple TV+ later in 2024. Good news for fans, and it gives me a target to actually finish season 1! Yes, another show I’ve started and may never finish.

It’s all very well made and Ferguson is great, I just haven’t connected with the story after three or maybe four episodes.

What of future seasons?

In the interview, Ferguson is talking about season 3 getting greenlit as well as season 4, leaving her convinced the two could be filmed back to back. The series is based on the Wool novels by Hugh Howey, and as Ferguson explains:

“…The books are the books. It’s three books, and the three books are divided into four seasons. So I believe, unless any Apple person is gonna jump on, I think we’re absolutely fine with saying Season 1, we’ve done. Season 2 is shot and coming out, and we’re now looking at green-lighting Seasons 3 and 4. And I think we would film them maybe together, and that would be the end.”

Given how swiftly season 2 was confirmed, I’d suspect this is more likely than not. Maybe I’ll even watch some more of season 1 before that happens?!
