Hulu has set the date for Only Murders in the Building and provided a teaser (see below). The show will premiere August 27th. In the new season, Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez) leave the Arconia and New York. The first trailer explains why they will be making the cross-country trip to Hollywood and showcases Charles’ negotiating prowess.
Cast includes Meryl Streep, Jane Lynch, Michael Cyril Creighton and Da’Vine Joy Randolph as well as newcomers Melissa McCarthy, Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, Zach Galifianakis, Molly Shannon, Kumail Nanjiani and Richard Kind.
What’s season 4 of Only Murders in the Building about?
Charles (Martin), Oliver (Short) & Mabel (Gomez) wrestle with the shocking events at the end of season three surrounding Charles’ stunt double & friend Sazz Pataki (Lynch). Questioning whether Sazz or Charles was the intended victim, our trio’s investigation leads them all the way to Los Angeles where a Hollywood studio is readying a film about the Only Murderspodcast. As our amateur sleuths race back to New York, they embark on an even more epic journey — traversing their building’s courtyard to delve into the twisted lives of the Arconia’s West Tower residents.
Sadly I stalled part way through season 3, so I’m not sure I’ll get to this. I was finding the show too focussed on actors being actors with Oliver’s musical taking too much oxygen from crime solving. I’ve three months to give it another shot!
